All About Me!

Welcome to my ‘Creative Blog’ here you will find all my creactive bits and pieces such as Sewing, Knitting, Scrapbooking, Baking etc. I try and keep it all about things I have made rather than about me! If you want to know more about me I am on Live Journal and that is more an ‘all about me and my life’ kind of place!

KNITTING: I think I probably learnt to knit when I was about 6? But could just and different kind of stitches and scarves for my dolls was as far as I got. In 2006 I started again and tried to knit a patchwork blanket, from one of those weekly partwork things. Well I learnt quite a few new stitches but stopped after about 15 issues when I worked out how much it was going to cost! This year I have picked knitting up again and decided to knit more than just rectangles and squares this time! I think knitting has quite a bad reputation as a ‘old woman hobby’ but I enjoy it (despite having had a few negative comments from people who should know better!) and there are some amazing things that can be made!

SEWING: I love sewing but it is probably the craft a have the least amount of ability in! I often get frustrated and make mistakes and really cannot sew in a straight line, hopefully this will be a craft I can improve at with more practice!

PATCHWORK: I am making a patchwork quilt using the English Paper piecing method, I am teaching myself as I go along and progress is slow, but I am very happy with it so far. It is a good project to have running along side everything else.

CROCHET: I cannot Crochet I really want to learn. Someone made me a really pretty crochet blanket for my first baby, It was a beautiful gift and I would love to make them for people, I must learn!!!

SCRAPBOOKING: I wish I had more time for scrapbooking. This is the craft that gets neglected the most with children as it is not something I can just pick up and do bits of. Hopefully one day I will have more time!

PHOTOGRAPHY: I like taking photos of my family and places we go and things we do. I am not into the ins and out of how a photo should look, if it comes out well that is a bonus! I am however enjoying doing a 365 day photo challenge for my mission 101.

COOKING: I really couldn’t cook a thing until my first baby was born. He has some health problems and it helps to know exactly what he is eating, therefore I started cooking everything from scratch. I now love cooking and try out new recipes as often as I can.

BAKING: I love baking! Bread and cakes are my favourite things ever and if it wasn’t for the risk of putting on an awful lot of weight I would bake even more!!!!
