Here are the boys ‘Milestone Baubles’ (the four on the left are Boo’s/ the two on the right Moo’s).
Every Christmas I buy a bauble and on the bottom I write their name / the year / a milestone
e.g Boos read:
2006 – 3 months old
2007 – learnt to walk
2008 – learnt to talk
2009 – tbc as I am debating whether or not potty trained is appropriate!!!
Moo’s read
2008 – 4 months old
2009 – learnt to walk
Future Baubles examples could be ‘started nursery’ or ‘started school’ etc
The idea is by the time they are grown up and leave home they will have a box full of decorations each for their Christmas trees in their ‘first homes’. However in reality as they are both boys they probably won’t be bothered and I will keep them forever! Either way they are a nice memory to keep and look back on each Christmas.
They also have been bought decorations by their grandparents each year I have also labeled those with the year and who bought them and these will also go in their decorations box. They currently share a box however that is now full so as of next year they will need a nice box each. At the moment I display them on a garland which goes accross my fireplace, although this is also getting quite full so will need their own tree soon! I have a little tree I may put in their bedroom next year 😀

Two Left Feet! , originally uploaded by Annaelizc.

Yes I know they are both left feet! I started these Mary Jane Bootees and thought the first one looked a bit small so I tried them again on needles one size up, although they do not look a lot different in the photo I am a lot happier with the slightly bigger one!

I am going to make another style of bootee as well for the same baby and decorate a box to put them in.

This is my biggest/ most ambitious project yet! I am making a Farmhouse/Farmyard and animals for my toddlers 3rd Birthday.

The farmhouse will be quilted and have a carry handle. It will store all the animals inside to carry around, but also fold out flat to make a farmyard to play with the animals on. I have no pattern for this!! It is just something I have ‘made up’ in my head and seemed a good idea at the time. It will be recycled as well! I will be using a cot bumper and the cover of his old playnest.

The animals are knitted and from pattern by Alan Dart called ‘Farmyard Frolics. I only have half of them at the moment and am waiting for his book to arrive with the rest of the patterns in.

I am starting with the horse, which so far seems not too difficult. I had never increased stitches before and have done three rows of increase without too many problems (had to undo one row!).

Ok, It has no eyes.

Eyes make him look like a dog, or a mouse, or a rabbit…. so I suppose it should still be WIP not TA-DA! but here is is anyway, my as good as finished caterpillar for my very nearly one year olds birthday!

Alfie's Caterpillar by you.

The pattern is from Augusts ‘Let’s knit’ magazine although I changed the wool, I used Patons DK Fab as it’s washable and can even be tumble dried, and with a one year old that is a must really!

Last year I made my toddler a pair of these Baby leg/arm warmers and he wasn’t impressed at all! However, now the hot weather is here I decided to find them out for my 11 month old to wear with a vest so he can stay cool but still crawl around without getting sore knees! He loves them so much, and my toddler has now decided he likes them as arm warmers with a t-shirt so looks like a trip to the Pound store to get some more knee high socks to make more! Here is is wearing them with his PJs.
